How to measure for wire wrapping

Hi friends! Since the price of precious metal wires has increased so much this past year, many of you have been asking for a tutorial on how to measure for the amount of wire you need. The method I teach in this video is an old school method that many of us 'seasoned' artists still use. I learned this method over 2 decades ago and can't remember the name of the site or the instructor I learned it from but I give gratitude to them here because it's a tested and true method that I still use today. It's not 100 percent accurate but it is within a half inch. I also explain 'why' the measure works, aligning it with a finished pendant and then I do the unthinkable and take the pendant apart to show you how it aligns with the measurement itself.

We use PAINTER'S TAPE for this and int he video I say 6 inches but that is minimum so you might actually go with 8 inches of tape for this. I suggest you watch first, then perhaps a second time to follow along with your cabochon and your tape. I hope this helps you and I'd love to hear from you if you give it a try. Did it work for you? Did you enjoy the method? Many thanks for watching! I appreciate your support of my channel and my artwork!

Good morning everyone! I'm doing some channel experiments to watch my statistics move and learn some things... I did a quick unannounced public livestream this morning, showing how to make a cute, quick pair of earrings and to show you all a new wire link that I created. They're adorable and easy and I hope you get a chance to view them. The link for the replay is here.... https://youtube.com/live/kCYkXHIHFbY?feature=share The processing on this livestream says it won't start for another 24 hours for some reason, so I'm curious about the quality of the recording before the processing starts. If you get a chance to watch it, please let me know if you notice anything out of the norm. Right away, I can hear that the audio is not the best ... it's not bad but could be more clear. Might be my mic too (testing equipment, always). Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and I thank you for watching me this morning! Much love! See you soon again!
